Meet our Founder
I’m Adam Hurst, founder and Head Teacher of YouThrive Academy Alternative Education, as well as a professional trainer working with education and social care teams. I’m passionate about creating meaningful opportunities for children and young people who may not thrive within mainstream education, while also equipping the adults around them with the knowledge, confidence and practical strategies to support them effectively.
With a First-Class Honours degree in Education and over seven years’ experience in the classroom, including roles as Head of Year and safeguarding lead, I founded YouThrive to provide a trauma-informed Alternative Provision where young people can re-engage with education, build confidence and develop the skills they need for their future.
Working directly with young people also drives
another important part of what I do: improving the practice of the professionals who support them. I see first-hand the difference that knowledgeable, confident and well-trained adults can make.
That’s why, alongside leading YouThrive, I deliver practical professional training designed to turn evidence and theory into strategies that can actually be used in everyday practice.
Whether I’m working directly with a young person or training the adults around them, the aim is the same: to make a meaningful difference for children and young people.
